Gorgeous vitrail (more commonly known as watermelon) signed by Weiss, in block letter with no copyright mark. The colors in this fabulous bracelet are truly stunning. The teardrop cut crystals are citrine, pink, mauve, & peridot. The large sumptuous waterlemon faceted crystals throw off an abundance of sparkles and interchanging with flashes of multicolors, from saturated hot pink to light peridot, and from shimmering gold to violet purple! The dazzling Aurora Borealis stones are light orange. These profoundly beautiful stones are set on a two strand bright gold tone metal rhinestone base with the gorgeous watermelon stones layering over them and then further accentuated by each jointed section that moves indenpendently. Every exquisite stone is secured by four prongs (typical of Juliana pieces) and hand set. This exquisite Vintage Antique Estate Bracelet does not have the typical Juliana 5-link look but was possibly made by the same famous De Lizza & Elster company. You be the judge. Determining and authenticating Juliana jewelry is difficult at best but this fits the glitzy style. What makes it even more special is the condition it is in. It is almost like new as if it has never been worn, showing only slight signs of wear. Very rarely can you find a Vintage Antique Estate Bracelet in such perfect pristine condition. What a find! A fabulous bracelet to wear for any special function!
Weiss was one of the premier designers of top quality costume jewelry, on the par with Eisenberg, Boucher and other great designers of the 40's and 50's but Weiss did not design all of their jewelry, and manufactured none of it. Some items made for Weiss was by Hollycraft, including Christmas trees. Weiss jewelry began in the 1940s and discontinued business about 1971. Some of their jewelry was purchased from Hollywood Jewelry Co of which Weiss applied their signature to it. Located in New York, NY. they created a low end line and high end line of costume jewelry and also made some high quality collectible items. The mark on this piece was the first mark used, "WEISS" in block print used in 1951, later came the mark of "Weiss" in script and "Abert Weiss" or A W Co. with the W looking some what like a crown.
